The Civil War Round Table of Cobb County is a non-profit 501(c) organization that meets in Marietta, GA on the first Thursday of each month from September to June.

David Brannan, who founded the Cobb County Civil War Round Table in June 2011, said, “Cobb is so rich in Civil War history that we decided we needed to start our own group here.” Fast forward twelve years and you will find the CWRT of CC (Civil War Round Table of Cobb County) is now meeting at the Hilton Atlanta/Marietta, which was the site of Georgia Military Institute (GMI) which was founded in 1851. We are fortunate have our meetings at a site that is directly related to the Civil War.

Our monthly speakers cover a wide range of topics related to the Civil War era, and we do not take sides. Our speakers are well known historians, professors, teachers, curators, authors, collectors, and some musicians.

Those attending a monthly meeting will find members and visitors gathered at the bottom of the grand staircase at the Hilton before the monthly meetings, talking and enjoying each other’s fellowship. At the beginning of our meeting there will be a mini-speaker, who most often is one of our own members, giving a very short talk on a topic of their interest or sharing something from their collection. Then the distinguished monthly speaker will begin their talk on their topic of expertise. We always allow time for questions at the end.

The monthly meetings are open to the public. Anyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Meetings are held at the Hilton Atlanta/Marietta Hotel & Conference Center

500 Powder Springs St. Marietta, Ga. 30068.
